Lasairiona McMaster, aka the queen of hockey romances, returns with her latest installment in the Cedar Rapids Raccoons Series, Lighting the Lamp! This sports romance, which is set to come out on February 1st, is the quick steamy read you need to add to your TBR! Tori is offended that Raffi act like they’ve never met! She thought they connected, but after a steamy one night stand, the hockey hot shot ghosted her, leaving her with nothing but wounded pride and two pink lines on a stick. And not the hockey kind. Well, she’s determined to stay away from him and never giving him a second chance to fool her again. Raffi knows Tori’s not a forgettable woman, but is confused as to why she insists she knows him? But then one look at her son and it hits him like a slap shot to the chest. The resemblance is undeniable. But how can he convince the mother of his child to let him be part of their lives, when he doesn’t even remember her? While I don’t normally like accidental pregnancy books, I really enjoyed this one! Maybe it’s because it wasn’t as “oopsy” as the trope tends to be for me or because it was wrapped into a series I already really like, I found myself loving Raffi and Tori’s story! It was also a mix of second-chance and fated mates in my opinion which was just so heartwarming to read. I’m also a sucker for the found family trope and this book not only has that in the biological sense, but in the metaphorical sense as well. As I’ve enjoyed in past books in this series, I love when the hockey guys rally around each other in support no matter what’s going on and so I loved seeing that trend continue in this book. If you like hockey romance, found family, and second-chance romance, then this is the book for you! *I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
