Lasairiona McMasters’s Snow Pirates Series has been a fan favorite on Bookstagram; however, all good things must come to an end. The sixth and final book in the series Two for Charging comes out on October 20th which follows the beloved Snow Pirates coach and his childhood best friend. Coach Elliott Swift is under pressure from all sides. His players are counting on him to return the team to championship success despite his recently graduated star players. His toxic ex-wife dogs his every move, and his sickly, aging parents require constant care. When he literally bumps into his childhood best friend, Clare, in the period product aisle of the pharmacy, everything changes. Twenty years is not enough to erase her impact on him. But she gives him the brush off as though they were never a thing. The last thing he needs, or wants, is a relationship. But he wants her. He's always wanted her. Can he earn her forgiveness and put the mistakes of their past behind them? Or will his inability to forgive himself prevent them both from moving forward? Just when I think I’ve reached the end of the Snow Pirates Books, Lasairiona McMasters goes and writes another wonderful addition to the series! I really enjoyed how realistic Clare and Elliot (aka Coach Swift)‘s romance was. This single parent, divorcee, second chance romance was binge-worthy and so enjoyable! The ups and downs in their relationship kept me hooked onto the plot and wondering just how things would work out for these long lost lovers! While I’m sad to see the Snow Pirates Series end, I am excited for what McMasters will write next (which I believe includes a spin-off hockey romance series!!!) and definitely recommend checking this book out as part of the series or as a standalone romance! Sports romance fans should definitely check this book (and series) out if they haven’t already!! Also be on the lookout for McMasters’s next hockey romance series coming out in 2023! *I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

Erin Hahn detours from her usual young adult novels and joins the adult romance scene with her newest book, Built to Last, which comes out on October 18th. While this is my first time reading one of Hahn’s books, this definitely won't be my last! Shelby Springfield has spent the last ten years trying to overcome her past, sanding it away like the rough spots on the vintage furniture she makes over. But as a former child star, it’s hard to forget a widely documented meltdown and huge public break up with her former co-star Lyle Jessup. It’s also hard to forget her other co-star and childhood sweetheart, Cameron Riggs. Anytime Shelby has called, Cameron has come running… And then he runs right off again to chase stories around the world by making documentaries, too scared to admit what he really wants. But when Lyle stirs the pot, getting the two back in the spotlight with a home renovation show, Cameron can't help but get on board. He wants to set down some roots while Shelby wants to prove she's not the messy party girl anymore. And a jealous Lyle can’t help but try to get in the way. But for his two childhood friends who had more chemistry than he could ever dream of, nothing is getting in the way of their second chance at love. Romance lovers: this book’s for you! This book, which is reminiscent of Funny You Should Ask and How To Love Your Neighbor combines a second chance romance with HGTV-esque themes. The chemistry between Shelby and Cameron was so well written that you can’t help but want their relationship and careers to flourish! And the way their story is written is so nicely done! The chapters just flow into one another so well that you’ll be finishing this book in one sitting! But on top of the main characters, all of the side characters are so great and really add depth to the story! To be honest, these characters are too good to have their stories end here! (Erin Hahn you better have a sequel up your sleeve!) If you love second chance romance, home renovation shows, or a peek behind the glitz of Hollywood, read this book! *I received an ARC from St. Martin’s Press in exchange for my honest opinion. |
