![]() From the New York Times bestselling author of Beach Read, Emily Henry, comes a new romance novel that will have you wanting to travel immediately. People We Meet on Vacation follows two friends as they embark on an adventure that could make or break their friendship (or maybe turn it into something more). Poppy and Alex. Alex and Poppy. They have nothing in common. She’s a wild child; he wears khakis. She has insatiable wanderlust; he prefers to stay home with a book. And somehow, ever since a fateful car share home from college many years ago, they are the very best of friends. For most of the year they live far apart—she’s in New York City, and he’s in their small hometown—but every summer, for a decade, they have taken one glorious week of vacation together. Until two years ago, when they ruined everything. They haven't spoken since. Poppy has everything she should want, but she’s stuck in a rut. When someone asks when she was last truly happy, she knows, without a doubt, it was on that ill-fated, final trip with Alex. And so, she decides to convince her best friend to take one more vacation together—lay everything on the table, make it all right. Miraculously, he agrees. Now she has a week to fix everything. If only she can get around the one big truth that has always stood quietly in the middle of their seemingly perfect relationship. What could possibly go wrong? I’m convinced Emily Henry can do no wrong! This book was phenomenally written, very well-executed, and fans of her other books will fall in love with this one as well! This book will make you want to jump on a plane immediately and travel somewhere new to experience the wonders that the world had to offer. All of the places that Poppy and Alex visit and the people they meet along the way really makes you appreciate the wonder of exploring diverse places! On top of getting bit by the travel bug, this book shows the beauty of finding that person who loves you as fully and unconditionally as Poppy and Alex love each other. These two vastly different strangers meet by chance and oddly find comfort and friendship with one another and develop into a fantastic friends-to-lovers romance. Henry perfectly showed the importance of connecting with different people and different places while also emphasizing the sanctity of finding your home and those special people to surround yourself with for comfort. Like I said before: Emily Henry is a phenomenal storyteller and I cannot wait to see what she will write next. This book is a must-read for those who love a good romcom and are looking for another book to add to their summer TBR!
